BARBARA J. ANDREWS known as BJ in the Akita world, is the most respected breeder of Akitas in the world. Her Akitas O'BJ include the top dogs that America has bred, as show dogs and producers. Thanks to BJ's dedication and involvement with the Akita, the breed has become one of the favored purebreds in the United States and a highly regarded contender in the Working Group. Besides over 200 AKC champions, Akitas O'BJ have won international championships and are moving forces in England, Australia, Canada, and South America. Perhaps BJ's most remarkable accomplishment is that she breeds and handles her own dogs and is the only owner to have handled an Akita to multiple Best in Show awards. While still breeding and showing O'BJ Akitas, she is also involved with the importation and development of the rare Chinese Foo Dog.
